Elena Shlaferman was born in Charkov in 1973 and originally lived in the Ukraine, her musical interests started in 1979 when at the age of 6 she studied the piano, singing and songwriting.

In 1985 her composition 'Child's Play' won 1st prize in a children's Radio music competition, the first of many prizes.

Elena began her artistic career in 1989 after having performed at her high school musical as musician and as the soloist voice of the ensemble. She continued to entertain at many school concerts with her own compositions and arrangement on keyboards.

After winning first prize in a crowded contest for young performers, she graduated in music and singing under the guidance of Irina Arkchipova, at the Gnessin, Moscow before attending school in Italy studying singing under the guidance of Renata Tebaldi and composition with Ennio Morricone.

Winner of the Concurso International de Cant "Francisca Cuarto" of Palma de Mallorca, also participated in the "Montserrat Caballé" in the Principality of Andorra.

Her operatic career began in 1999 at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow where she played the role of Paulina in The Drafts of Spades of Caikovskij. Also at the Bolshoi she interprets Olga in Eugene Onegin. Those roles were also played at the National Opera in Sofia. . Among other important roles include Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana at the Philadelphia Opera House and as Clotilde in Norma at the New Israeli Opera.

Elena also studied literature and poetry at Lomonosov University in Moscow and written many poems, lyrics, short stories, historical and philosophical lectures, her poems and lyrics presented at the Moscow Poetry Club and the Literary Festival Ukraine

Elena has developed her compositions and received TV and radio play worldwide. Her music has won numerous competitions worldwide and has been recorded by the RAI Symphonic Orchestra and performed at and in Italy, Prague,Toronto, London, France. Monte Carlo, Israel, Netherlands, Ukraine, Latvia, Poland, New Zealand & Australia, Germany.

Three of Elena's compositions' The Mood Of Love', 'Happen To Meet' and 'The Child's Play' have been published by Cringe Music music and are presented on Disc 5 of their Universal Themes for TV, Radio, Film and Advertising.

Elena has performed live concerts of instrumental and pop music of many genres at festivals and venues in Russia, Ukraine, France, Italy, Germany and Israel. Including a tour of Italy where she was able to perform her music on Grand Piano.

'Elena & Her Music Machine' concerts were performed at Moscow's Concert Hall and in the Summer in Gorki Park and in the concert hall 'Ukraine' that holds an audience of 10,000.

Her composition " Rainy Day" reached the semi-finalals of the UK Songwriting Contest 2009
